Present Simple vartojamas:

  • kalbant apie įprastus, nuolat pasikartojančius veiksmus;
  • nurodant bendrą tiesą ar faktą.

Trečiasis vienaskaitos asmuo (he, she, it) gauna galūnę –s / –es.
Pvz.: Helen reads, The lesson begins.

Rašybos taisyklės

  1. Jei veiksmažodis baigiasi priebalse + y, raidė y virsta i, ir pridedama –es.

    • We hurry → He hurries
  2. Jei veiksmažodis baigiasi ch, o, sh, ss, x, pridedame –es.

    • He goes, Time passes, She wishes you luck.

Pagalbiniai veiksmažodžiai: do ir does

Naudojami klausimuose ir neiginiuose.
