Klausimai (Questions)

  • What is the time? / What time is it? – Kelianta valanda?
  • It is six o’clock by my watch. – Mano laikrodis rodo šešias.

  • My watch is 5 minutes slow. – Laikrodis 5 min. vėluoja.

Paaiškinimas apie laiką (Explaining Time)

Kalbant apie laiką šnekamojoje kalboje vartojami skaitvardžiai nuo 1 iki 12. Kad išvengtume nesusipratimų, vartojami žymenys:

  • a.m. – nuo vidurnakčio iki vidurdienio
  • p.m. – nuo vidurdienio iki vidurnakčio

„Past“ ir „To“ vartojimas

  • Nuo 12 iki 6 – past („po“)
  • Nuo 6 iki 12 – to („be“)
  • a quarter = 15 minučių
  • half = 30 minučių

🕒 Atminkite:

  • past vartojame, kai laikrodis rodo iki pusės valandos po valandos.
  • to vartojame, kai sakome, kiek trūksta iki kitos valandos.
    Pvz.:
  • twenty past five – 5:20
  • ten to six – 5:50
