GRAMMAR. QUANTIFIERS
Quantifiers show the amount or quantity of something.
They are divided into large quantities and small quantities.
A lot of
Means “many / much.”
Used in positive sentences.
There are a lot of snowdrops in the meadows.
Many
Used with countable nouns, often in questions or negatives.
Do you see many trees around this house?
Much
Used with uncountable nouns.
He couldn’t drink much milk.
More
Means “a larger amount.”
Linda has to write three more letters.
Most
Means “the largest amount.”
They were happy most of the evening.
Few and Little
Both mean “not much / not many.”
- Few – with countable nouns.
There were few people at the festival.
- Little – with uncountable nouns.
There was little rain that autumn.
A few / A little
Adding a makes the meaning more positive.
Emily has a few plums on the plate.
They had a little milk for breakfast.

EASTER /ˈiːstə/
The Easter egg is the emblem of Easter.
The Christian religion gave the world this festival which in ancient times was called Eostre.
Eostre, the goddess of springtime, got the name from the word East — where the sun rises.
It marks the beginning of spring when nature prepares for new life.
In England people dye eggs.
Children roll them down the hill.
People sell chocolate eggs or rabbits — hollow or filled, wrapped in colourful paper.
A very old custom takes place on Easter Monday.
All villagers go to one house.
Two twin sisters began this custom 800 years ago.
Their wish was to give food and money to old people.
