STRATFORD-UPON-AVON

Stratford was founded over 800 years ago, about 75 miles from London.
It stands on the banks of the River Avon, in the centre of England.
Little streams flow through the meadows and fields.

William admired the nature around him.
On market days, farmers sold and bought various things.

Interesting places include:

  • the house where Shakespeare was born,
  • the school where he studied,
  • the church with his grave covered in flowers.

The River Avon has bridges, the most famous being the Clopton Stone Bridge, built in the 15th century.
The Road Transport Museum is the largest in the UK.
The Butterfly Farm holds over one thousand butterflies from all over the world.

The first theatre was built in 1879, April 23 — Shakespeare’s birthday.
The Royal Shakespeare Theatre opened in 1932.
People come from all over the world to see his plays.

RECIPROCAL PRONOUNS

Each other – used for two people

Our parents love each other.

One another – used for more than two

The students looked at each other’s eyes.
They play in one another’s yards.

✅ Both are correct in modern English. Each other is now common for all groups.
