Grammar: Alternative Questions

Alternative questions are made of two or more parts connected by “or.”
They look like Yes–No questions, but offer a choice.
The first part has rising intonation, and the second part falling intonation.

Examples

Do you like tea or coffee? — Tea, please.
Was the day warm or hot yesterday? — The day was hot.
Can James speak German, English or French? — He can speak only English.
